The State of California faces a future crises that few people are either aware of, or fully understand. A construction aggregates shortage looms, and it will effect on the lives of all individuals living in this state. Materials necessary for the construction of highways, roads, streets, schools, hospitals and houses will be severely scarce in the near future. It is inevitable it will happen, yet very little is being done to address this dilemma.
On September 12, Steve Bledsoe, President of CalCIMA will discuss the dynamics of this impending problem. Steve will show the extent of the problem, how it developed and the impact it will have on construction less than 10 years from now. This information will be especially important for you to know, as your livelihood is tied to construction in California. As the situations develop, our individual actions and understanding will be key for any kind of solution.
Steve Bledsoe is President of the California Construction and Industrial Materials Association or “CalCIMA”. It is a non-profit member organization that was formed January 2007. CalCIMA is the statewide voice for aggregates, ready-mixed concrete and other industrial material companies throughout California.
